Chocolate Delight

This is my favorite dessert that my best friend's mom makes! It's a family recipe that she makes for all the holiday parties and when I come home from being away.

Chocolate Delight

Serves: 15 slices

Ingredients

1st layer (crust): - 1 cup self-rising flour - 1 stick of butter

2nd layer (filling): - 8 oz cream cheese, softened - 1 cup powdered sugar - 1 small container Cool Whip

3rd layer (filling/topping): - 1 large box of instant pudding

Directions

1st layer (crust): - Melt butter in saucepan. Then, stir in the flour. Take the mixture and put it in a 9x13 glass pan. Pat with fingers to cover the bottom of the pan. Be sure and coat finger with flour or it will stick to your hands

- Bake at 415F for ten minutes.

- Let the crust cool completely or it will come apart when you add the second layer.

2nd layer: - Mix cream cheese and sugar together with a wooden spoon or a mixer on low speed until well blended. Once the mixture is well blended, add the Cool Whip and stir until creamy. (If it isn’t easy to stir, add more Cool Whip until it is.)

- Add the creamy mixture to the top of the crust and spread evenly.

3rd layer: - Follow the pudding instructions on the box. Once the pudding is made, spread it evenly on top of the cream cheese mixture.

- Finish with a layer of Cool Whip. Place in the fridge for at least one hour. Then, slice and enjoy!
